Camino - The New TYPO3 Theme
Camino is a new responsive TYPO3 theme and you see it with this website.
Included are some special Content Elements, different configuration options concerning the layout and colors for the theme itself, as well as for each Content Element.
Unique on this website is the Appearance Toggle to switch between light and dark mode. This toggle--beside according CSS adjustments--didn't make it yet into the official version, but I'm hopeful that the LTS version might include it.
Designed with a 'mobile-first' philosophy, Camino provides a professional out-of-the-box experience that is easy to customize via the TYPO3 Backend without touching a single line of code. Beyond standard text and images, it introduces unique elements like ‘Hero’ elements for the header area of pages, 'Link Lists' for organized footers, 'Teasers' for highlight sections, and flexible 'Icon Groups'. Further elements are included, so there is more to discover. This flexibility makes it an ideal choice for landing pages and modern business websites that require high performance and a clean, structured look across all devices.
All content elements in common have an optional call-to-action button, that can be configured with individual text , link, icon and selectable appearance and position.
Layout selection
The theme is built on a robust grid system, ensuring that your content automatically adapts to any screen size, from large desktops to smartphones. This grid allows for precise control over column widths and spacing, giving you a professional layout without needing custom CSS.
In the TYPO3 backend, Camino provides several predefined layouts—such as 'Startpage,' 'Standard,' and 'Empty'—which define exactly where your content columns and footer elements appear. By simply selecting a layout in the page properties, you can transform the entire look and functionality of a page instantly.
Configuring Details
To personalize the look, Camino can be configured in the site setup with 2 options:
- The color scheme with the options
- Caramel Cream
- Forest Mist
- Ocean Breeze
- Violet Velvet
- En- or disable Sticky Navigation / header bar
Additionally each content element has the option to select a background colors which enables also some padding.
