About this camino website
This website servers as demo, as showcase concerning the Camino-Theme itself. The theme was developed as optional component of TYPO3 v14 and is freely available to start an own website.
The Appearance-Toggle to switch between dark and light mode is not part yet of the official theme. It exists in different variations with 1-3 buttons, with UTF-8 signs for sun, half-moon and moon, as well as according SVG icons. On a common website there should exist only one solution, so I made the choice for the 1 button-toggle.
The adjusted theme extension offers the choice in the backend, and you can download this repository here.
Furthermore you can switch easily between the different color themes, so you get a quick impression how each color choice looks in detail. Note though, that some adjustments concerning colors for content elements are available in the backend, and not all available variants are used on this website.
About this static website
This static website is created with TYPO3, and just downloaded to be published as static page, it resides inside the repository but is deployed independently from the code. In detail I do the download and some link-adjustments with a script, so any adjustments in pages, navigation or content can be easily applied and deployed with a single push. Further details and arguments for static websites as part of common repositories you can find on the following website:
About TYPO3
TYPO3 is an Open Source enterprise content management system (CMS) and a feature-rich Eco-System around it. Out of this Eco-System other products like Fluid (templating-engine) and Neos (CMS) evolved as well as many software-tools beside extensions with many different purposes. Essential part of this Eco-System is the community, as governing and supporting body the TYPO3 Association, and the TYPO3 GmbH for commercial support.
TYPO3 CMS itself is based on PHP, with intense use of PHP-FIG interfaces, and Symfony. Composer as PHP dependency manager is used for autoloading and can also be used for installations. TYPO3 itself is using Grunt for asset management (JavaScript etc.) but extension authors are free to use whatever they prefer.
Many Extensions are listed in the TER (TYPO3 Extension Repository), even those that haven't been uploaded there but exist only on GitHub. And when extensive documentation doesn't help anymore, the community often does.
This theme is based on TYPO3 v14, with LTS (long time support) release date 21. April 2026.
